Edible Books Festival and Silent Auction

On April 4, 2006, M. P. Baker Library at Panola College hosted an Edible Book Festival. Every one turned books into something you can eat. We had fun -- used our imagination -- were creative -- and helped raise money for the library!  A silent auction of all entries raised $340! with the proceeds going towards the Library Expansion Project. The $50 Winner for the Best Entry was May Whitten for The Giving Tree.  A special thank you to our judges, Freddy Mason, Van Patterson and Dr. Lillian Cook.  And to everyone that viewed and made a bid.

How do you enter?
Bring your entries to the library when we have our next event.  All materials MUST be EDIBLE or mostly edible - some non-edible elements may be added, as long as they can be removed for eating. Also, please, no open flames.

What are Edible Books? The International Edible Book Festival is a yearly event that takes place on April 1 throughout the world. This event unites bibliophiles, book artists and food lovers to celebrate the ingestion of culture and its fulfilling nourishment. Participants (you!) create edible books that are exhibited, documented and consumed.  Visit http://books2eat.com to see creations from around the world
